This show exists because the people of Spokane deserve to know what is happening, who is driving it, who is benefiting, and why no one has been held accountable.
Too many decisions that shape this city are made far from public view. Public money moves through government agencies, nonprofits, developers, contractors, political organizations, and private interests. Policies are passed. Contracts are awarded. Lawsuits are funded. Reports are written. The same names and organizations appear again and again.
Meanwhile, Spokane is paying the price.
We see it in the businesses closing their doors. The neighborhoods absorbing the consequences of failed policies. The families afraid to use public spaces. The victims of crime who stopped reporting because they no longer believe anyone will come.
The people dying on our streets while millions continue to be spent in their name.
The public is repeatedly told that things are improving.
What we see tells a very different story.
So we are going to follow the money. We are going to examine the records, the contracts, the lawsuits, the political relationships, the nonprofit networks, and the decisions being made behind closed doors.
Who is making those decisions?
Who is funding them?
Who benefits?
Who pays the price?
And why has so much of this gone unchallenged for so long?
Those are the questions Spokane Confidential was created to answer.
